斯诺登通过英国“第四频道”对全球发表圣诞讲话片段

     据美国媒体12月24日报道，爱德华·斯诺登将于25日通过英国“第四频道”电视台发表“圣诞致辞”，他将呼吁人们团结起来结束大规模监控。

  斯诺登将在致辞中提道：“英国（作家）乔治·奥韦尔警告过我们这类信息的危险性。他在书中（《1984》）提到的麦克风、摄像机和电视等监视手段和今天的监控手段相比根本不值一提。我们随身携带的传感器（指手机）就一直在监视我们的行踪。想一想这对普通公民的隐私是多大的威胁吧。”

  他将在致辞的最后发出积极呼吁：“团结起来吧，我们可以找到更好地平衡、结束大规模监控，并提醒政府如果它想知道我们的感受，询问比监控的代价要小得多。”

  “第四频道”负责人表示：“爱德华·斯诺登揭秘监控项目的决定是这一年里最重大的新闻事件之一。他在公共领域里曝光的信息引发了对民主社会的严重质疑。现在我们的观众有机会直接听到他的讲话，并自行做出判断。”

  斯诺登日前接受美国《华盛顿邮报》采访时称：“对我来说，就个人满足感而言，任务已经完成了。我已经赢了。”他同时否认要改变美国社会，“我不想改变社会，我想给社会一个机会来决定是否应改变自己。”

I'm honored to have the chance to speak with you and your family this year.

Recently, we learned that our governments, working in concert, have created a system of worldwide mass surveillance, watching everything we do.

Great Britain's George Orwell warned us of the danger of this kind of information. The types of collection in the book -- microphones and video cameras, TVs that watch us -- are nothing compared to what we have available today. We have sensors in our pockets that track us everywhere we go.

Think about what this means for the privacy of the average person. A child born today will grow up with no conception of privacy at all. Privacy is what allows us to determine who we are and who we want to be.
