生活英语： 如何用英语表达手机欠费？

Coco最近给妈妈新买了一个4G手机。一天，她问妈妈，手机有没有欠费？妈妈回答：“no money.” Coco有点哭笑不得，决定好好帮妈妈恶补一下英语。那到底Cocoy为什么会无语呢？小伙伴们知道吗？

run out of credit 手机欠费

很多同学会疑惑，手机欠费不就是没有钱吗？直接用“My phone has no money.”不就行了，多简单啊！其实这样的表达太中式了，地道的英语表达应该是“my cellphone ran out of credit. ”

“run out of ”是“用光，耗尽”的意思，“credit”除了“信用、信誉、积分”之外，还有“话费”的意思。

举个例子：

The study found that nearly53 percent of mobile phone users in Britain tend to be anxious when they "lose their mobile phone, run out of battery or credit, or have no net work coverage".

该研究发现，英国有近53%的手机用户在“手机丢失、手机没电或余额不足、或者不在服务区”的时候会感到焦虑不安。

top up 充值

手机欠费，自然需要充值，日常生活中表达“给手机充值”，应该说“top up”，给手机充值流量可以说“ top up data”。

举个例子：

My mobile phone is out of credit, I have to top up it.

我手机没钱了，得去给手机充值

turn on/off your phone 开/关机

大家都会遇到上班开会的时候，会议上要求关机的情况。关机正确表达不是close your phone，应该是turn off your phone。

那么开机呢？不是open your phone，正确表达是“turn on your phone”。

举个例子：

Turn off your phone and lock the door, to avoid unnecessary interruptions from others.

关掉电话，锁上门，以避免别人不必要的打扰。

look through my phone 刷手机

我们手机一族，临睡前总会有一个强迫症。不停的刷手机，一遍一遍的刷。那么“刷手机”的正确表达是应该是“look through my phone”。

举个例子：

Look through this phone, Sandy What can you see?

桑迪，你刷这手机发现了什么？
