Today's English phrase is word- for-word.

① 用于生活中：

For example:

He repeated the directions（指示）word for word.

Once he hears something, some people are able to repeat the thing exactly or word for word. This is a skill that some people can have but you may not be able to learn it.  It's kind of a photographic memory(过目不忘的能力) or exact recall(准确的回忆).

② 用于工作中：

The actress read the part word for word.

This can be positive --showing excellent memory, or negative--showing a lack of creativity(缺乏创意).  If it is negative, we use it to mean someone is lazy and won't do a better job.

③ 用于学习中：(完全照搬式抄袭)

The student copied his journal entry word for word from the Internet.

 This implies laziness and a lack of desire to do the students on work.  Word for word is used in any situation and any English speaking country.
