Passenger：I need to report lost luggage.

我行李找不到了。

Airline agent: I’m very sorry that happened.

很抱歉发生这种事情。

Passenger: What do I need to do?

我需要怎么做？

Airline agent: Please fill out this lost luggage form.

请填写一下“行李遗失表”。

Passenger: I have very important business papers in my suitcase.

我行李箱里有很重要的商业文书。

Airline agent: I understand. I am very sorry.

我明白，我对此感到很抱歉。

Passenger: Will you contact me as soon as you find it?

你们一旦找到它就跟我联系，可以吗？

Airline agent: Yes. We will send it to you right away.

好的，我们会立即寄还给你的。

Passenger: I am staying in a hotel downtown.

谢谢，我住在市区酒店。

Airline agent: We will contact you as soon as we locate your suitcase.

我们找到后会马上联系你。

要点笔记：

① fill out与fill in

两者都表示“填写”的意思，但fill out倾向于强调“完整的”填写，而fill in则强调的是填写“空白”，它俩的区别，其实大家记这两个短语就好fill in the blank与fill out the form；另，美国人喜欢用fill out。

② lost luggage form：行李遗失登记表

③ business paper：商业票据，商用单据；商业文书。Paper原意是“纸”的意思，但绝大多数情况下用的都是它的延伸意，很多写纸上的东西/事物都可以用paper这个词，如毕业论文中的论文就说的paper（在翻译毕业论文摘要时，专业的翻译都会用到paper这个词。）

④ 词义辨析as soon as与as long as

as soon as：一…就…，引导时间状语从句，该词的时态遵循“主将从现”的原则，文中两处都是这一用法；

as long as=so long as=while：只要

⑤ downtown：adj.市中心的，商业区的……adv.在市区，n.市中心商业区；其反义词是uptown

Hotel downtown：市区酒店
