每个企业在他们的产品即将投放到一个市场之前，相信他们都会先做大量的市场调查和研究，常言说，不打无准备的仗。精准的市场研究报告对公司产品的投放的作用是不言而喻的，所以在商务英语的学习中，市场调查研究也是很重要的一个课题。

A: How is market research carried out?

怎样进行市场研究?

B: That's a very wide question. But to put it in a very simple term, one of the objects ofmarket research is to find out whether there's a market for that product and whether we cansell that product in the market.

A: Who does this kind of job then?

B: Sometimes we carry out our own research, but for major products where development costsare likely to be high, we employ specialists.

A: Do your own salesmen take part in?

B: In the early stages, only the regional managers do. If we decide to have some testmarketing, some of the senior sales men are brought in.
