Teaching English language
杨世陨
The goal of good teaching is to build up an interaction between teachers and students, which demands a great deal of management skill on the part of the teacher to make his students fully engrossed in the classes. What brings a teacher joy from teaching basically lies in his successful instruction with students. Foreign language teaching defies easiness on account of its specialties exclusively stemming from listening, speaking, reading, writing and translating/interpreting. A foreign language teacher mainly has to steer the students through the right paths to learning, which requires the teachers’ profound zest to the foreign language itself. Contact with the English language evoked my interest 12 years back, and my 6th sense told me that I would do something with English in the future. Perhaps, it’s just meant to be this. I began to teach English language in my last semester of college life when I was blessed with this job opportunity which I happened to land at our city’s English Corner. Excitedly and decisively, I knew I had to plunge deep into it.
Once H.B Adams said: “A teacher affects eternity, he can never tell where his influence stops.” My dedication to teaching has gained me the respect of my students. I’m always exerting my efforts to acquire good skills to be able to present an impressive class. In my point of view, a teachers’ role in teaching mainly sticks to guidance and effective ways for improving the students. I would like to offer my students my strategies to learn English, for teaching after all is not a unilateral activity. Now, I have both child and adult students, and I invariably hope to make all-out efforts to impart my English knowledge to them. Whenever I find that my students are able to translate what I taught into practical application, I smile in satisfaction with my job. I always hold to the belief that “Job Satisfaction” is beyond account in any proper words. I always feel happy and highly energetic while I’m teaching and I learn English language with my students side by side. I teach and I also learn, I have made my vocation a success.
To teach is to learn and to learn is to teach. I’d like to combine “Learn” and “Teach” into one. What matters most is that I enjoy English language teaching and learning, thus, I can make both of them fun, and falling into raptures over this language. I would like to get myself involved into learning with my students while I’m teaching, giving myself enough exposure to the enjoyment of teaching and learning at all times. Talking with my students in English in the classes, I always try to entertain them and myself with the English language itself. We all bury ourselves into this language’s charm and fascination.
English language teaching can be very amusing and interesting if you’re aware of its influences. As an added comfort and honor, I think teaching offers not only remarkable results but also certain senses of achievement. Each time, when I’m told that my students have overcome their fear of English language and they owe their success to me. I would feel joyful from the bottom of my heart. It is gratifying to know that my work has been unanimously appreciated and that my efforts have paid off.
Magically and fabulously, teaching cheers me up as well as lifts my spirit when I’m down. Sacredly and divinely, teaching tells me that I should be conscientious and responsible professionally. Amusingly and delightfully, teaching lights up my life and allows me to realize my merits.
